What is the difference between UI and UX?
UI stands for User Interface. It is the means by which the user and product interact with one another and all the visual elements, icons, buttons, screens, etc are nothing but user interface.
UX stands for User Experience. It refers to the overall experience of a user with a company, its products, or services.
How are UI and UX important in a design?
When you look at a website/app, how wonderful it would be if everything looked nice, neat, and easy to navigate. User interface takes care of this much needed job. UI design focuses on things that are needed for better understanding, use and easy access for the users. As mentioned earlier, all the layout elements that you see constitutes the UI.
User Interface is a method by which a user interacts with an application or website. It is the graphical layout of an application for e.g. the text users read, the images, buttons and the items they interact with, etc. User Interface includes display screens, keyboards, a mouse, and the application of a desktop. Some other examples of the user interface include remote control, virtual reality, computer mouse, ATMs, etc.
 User Interface includes both the hardware and software that make up a system, as well as the physical interactivity between the user and the system. It includes everything from how a device looks and feels, to how various functions are accessed and controlled.
There are different types of user interfaces. Graphical user interface (GUI), command-line interface (CLI), touch user interface, voice user interface (VUI), etc. are some of them.
Making a good user interface design for a website is not very easy. But the process is worth it and based on users feedback, you can alter your designs too.
User experience focuses on providing a good quality experience for the users. It is determined by how they interact with a website or an app. Is navigating the website easy? Is it a struggle to interact with the app? These things matter in user experience. For business growth, a good user experience is very important.
How do UI and UX complement each other?
A good UI design leads to a great user experience. Both of them work towards a better user experience. UX and UI design perfectly blend together. UI team works on how all the interface elements appear on screen and UX team works on flow of the app, how the buttons navigate through the task etc. They perfectly complement each other. A good UI is crucial in providing a good UX as it makes the system very easy and intuitive. A bad UI can make the user experience worse leading them to abandon the product or services.
